PhotonQ-Walking with inspiring minds

On the way back from a nice walk in the forest, listening to Peter Diamandis and Jimmy Wales 's talks. Two great minds to be "spending time with", listening to and thinking about their work and amazing projects,ideas.

About the photo. Listening, reading, talking or meeting with "out of the box's minds" I believe, helps to keep an equilibrium in front of some of the stupidities of our social environment. By keeping the mind sharp, active, creative, questioning the world and ourself. By pushing us to go deeper and deeper into the understanding of what we call knowledge, reality, us and the Universe. So that' s why I highly encourage you to take the time to listen to or watch this two talks O=)

Peter Diamandis 's talk was from The Long Now Foundation 's seminar on Long-term X-Prizes. (watch it here(video) or download it and listen to it here (Mp3) )

("Prizes are proving themselves as powerful tools to accelerate goal-specific innovation. Diamandis, the founder and chairman of the X Prize Foundation, has built on the success of the million Ansari X Prize that inaugurated private-sector spaceflight in 2004 with Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne. Currently in play are new prizes for a ,000 human genome, for a private Moon landing, and for a super-efficient car, with more in the pipeline.

But prize contests so far have focussed on near-term goals — spectacular achievements that can be accomplished in a decade or two. What might be prize-worthy hundred-year goals, or thousand-year goals? What goals might a century of focussed effort transform from the clearly impossible to the merely difficult?.")

Among some of the MEGA X Prizes are :

* First (private) Human on Mars
* Carbon Sequestration: Create an economic device to extract/sequester carbon from the atmosphere
* Faster-than-light Communications
* First Baby Born off Earth
* Humans in Deep Ocean : 3 people to ocean bottom twice in 3 days.
* Image 100% of the Ocean Floor
* Babelfish - Instant universal translator
* Artificial Intelligence: Build a machine that passes the Turing Test
* Self-replicating (non-biological) machines
* Eradicate Hunger for > 90% of the human population
* Eradicate poverty for > 90% of the human population
* Longevity: Double the length of the healthy human lifespan
* Cancer: Be able to detect any cancer at the 100-cell stage and Zap-it
* Identify extra-solar life-bearing planet: Any type of replicating life from, single cell or greater
* SETI - Proof of extra-terrestrial intelligence
* NY to Paris in 30 min
* Private, fully-reusable, Orbital Spaceship
* Human to orbit for <0,000

Jimmy wales 's talk : Free Speech, Free Minds and Free Markets was for ForaTv (watch it here(video) or download it and listen to it here (Mp3) )

("Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales joins journalist Christopher Lydon to address the direction of web 2.0 and how Objectivist philosophy guides his vision" Across the globe we are building, editing, and contributing to a growing body of knowledge and tools at everyone's fingertips. Volunteers in leaderless organizations contribute to online initiatives and articles. Software developers spend their free time collaborating with complete strangers.

Amazingly, these efforts are creating products of extraordinary quality, sometimes better than that of large for-profit organizations.
Why do we do it? Why does it work? .)"

I had fun with this. I threw in every color. The 60's plaid has enough colors in it that it matches anything. As usual every piece is a women's cut except the shoes. Women's clothes are fitted and they have color.
The overall look though is just eccentric and boyish rather than transgender. I am claiming a genderqueer public persona. I am claiming public space for gender non-conforming males and creating new possibilites for us.

I am a genderqueer artist. I am an activist for Male Femininity. I Video blog, take street fashion photography, and write about gender.

Youssouf with a replica of a sheep statue in a shop of the Vatican Museums - Vatican City, Rome, Italy - 10 August 2006

I loved the Vatican museum, well actually museums. There are just short of a dozen of museums out there. Actually a bit too much to see. Hundreds of statues, fresco's, religious artefacts.. It's not easy to have full attention for all of them. Of course the Sistine Chapel was amazing.

Have a look at the blog post at Youssouf's Sheeplog with this photo.

To see where this photo was taken exactly, have a look at the interactive map and zoom in and out for a better overview.
