This image was modified from the final photo seen in the next image. Here, I've used the Photoshop filter for adding a canvas texture to the photo. Best viewed in largest size. Since this was late in the day, I was standing atop a low hill overlooking the lettuce fields and the foreground shows the shadow across the romaine lettuce section of the farm. I can't tell which I like better, this version with canvas texture or the straightforward image. I had a tripod but did not use it to much effect. For a painterly and abstract composition, the blur seemed to be ok. I'd appreciate your comments on either image.
This was taken a year ago in Yuma, Arizona. From December on the lettuce crops seem at their peak during the year. Let us be grateful to farmers!

Nearing the end of this canvas for my Uncle & Aunt, it'll be a two piece (see the photo above the canvas) when it's done.. eventually. This one has near driven me crazy (working from a flash photography image is hell for trying to get the right tone..) but I'm fairly happy with how it's shaping up now, need to strike some more balance with some of the elements ( the glasses, the hair, the background) and to finish off painting in a background.. and the edges.. all on the tiniest splash of white I've got left. The heat is on, wo-o-o-oh.
