This photo was taken of a sunrise view of an ancient fort called "Al-Uqair" located in Eastern province of Saudi Arabia at the shore of Arabian Gulf. according to some archeologists they believe that its a place belong to The lost city of Gerrha that's been preceded by the legendary Sumerian-era civilization of Dilmun 4000BC. The place been used as a customs building in early 20th century. Once goods are cleared, they're usually moved by the merchant to the "Khan" behind it. This is where it is sold or shipped with camel caravans to the different areas in Saudi Arabia.

Details and History
The Library of Congress website offers a multitude of historical images, many with no known restrictions on use. This 1865 Sam A. Cooley image shows a woman walking past ruined houses in Savannah, GA. The dark cape over a light dress seems to be normal attire rather than mourning dress. The source stereograph is titled Savannah, Georgia. Ruins of houses. General Sherman's march to the sea, destroying infrastucture and property with a mobile army lacking supply lines, ended with the capture of Savannah. In his estimation only twenty percent "inured to our advantage" while the "remainder is simple waste and destruction."

Details and History
The Library of Congress website offers a multitude of historical images, many with no known restrictions on use. This July, 1864 image by Charles E. Meyer shows a woman in dark clothing walking through the ruins of Chambersburg PA. The source stereograph is titled North-West corner public square, Chambersburg, Franklin Co., Pa., destroyed by the rebels under McCausland, July 30th, 1864 . The third occupation of Chambersburg by confederate forces during the war resulted in burning much of the town when a demanded ransom was not paid.
