Some cool photo editing online images:
My Girls

I am way behind with my photo editing and the care and feeding of this blog. That is not to say I have not been busy, it’s just that none of that activity has been directed at this little corner of my universe.
There are photos and video from the Generationals, Royal Teeth and Prom Date show at the Manship Theatre a few weeks ago that need some attention. There is new gear to be experimented with. And, there were pictures from Anna and Quinn’s visit to my parent’s house last weekend. My brothers were all in town so we got the whole bunch of us together and gawked at Quinn for a while.
It seems that my final contract negotiations with LSU Press are complete, so I can now get down to the actual work of writing 85,000 words. I haven’t really talked about it too much because we were still hammering out the details but it seems there will be a book titled Water Under Everything with my name on it available sometime in 2013. It should be fun; it should be a lot of work. More to come on that subject as things firm up (read, get written).
I also gave an interview to the editor of WIRED Magazine’s RAW File. In addition to maintaining WIRED’s online photo presence, Pete Brook has an interest in prison photography. Life Magazine recognized his other online presence, Prison Photography, as one of the 2011’s Best Photo Blogs. He has lots of other plaudits to his name but it might be of interest to the readers here because his website will be publishing a number of my photographs from Angola along with the aforementioned interview.
Check out more at my blog, Lemons and Beans, for lots of photos, recipes, travel writing and other ramblings. I appreciate any feedback but, please do not post graphic awards or invitations in the comments, I'm just not crazy about them. Also, if you want to use any of my Commercial Commons licensed photos please link the attribution back to my blog (listed above) and use my full name, Frank McMains. Thanks! Sorry, but you have to pay to use fully copyright protected photos.

When connectivity of digital formats brings all the information within reach permanently and immediately, closed files, localized libraries, start to lose their meaning (especially their spatial meaning); they become ubiquitous.
Our memories are now the web’s memories, our knowledge is in some sense still ours and is also tinged with the web’s knowledge. The fact that a piece of information is in some place is enough for it to be at the same time in uncountable places and, applying communication tools, to be at the same time in more and more places. What’s left of our memories then? What do they become?
The subject of this Y SIN EMBARGO is precisely memory, its forms, places, functions and posibilities, its updates upgrades, and therefore its new forms, places, functions and posibilities. And to go beyond in the logic and critical readings around these questions, the present issue will not have a permanent existence, available, as a part of the shared memory that we humans have on the web; on the contrary, it will be a work sent directly to the void, it will be lost, as a pile of organized energy in a dissipative medium, like all that we cannot download from our heads (or access anywhere),
YSE#25, just a memory, will cease existing on October 5th, 2010.
What remains in our memories?
