Group administrator Andrea invited me to participate in this collage challenge and as I'd been promising to submit an image for so long I decided to "bite the bullet" and learn how to manipulate multiple layers.
I've been a member of this group for some months but never had the skills to create a composite image before - I should have been using Photoshop for this technique, but tried Gimp ( a free graphic manipulation software) and after watching many video tutorials I was able to create a rudimentary image. I'm not particularly happy with it other than as a first effort and AT LAST I've discovered the secret of Alpha Channels. Many people have said to do it in turorials but never said why and had they done so my learning curve would not have been so bumpy and circuitous.
